Meet Basil!

🐾  Basil is ready for adoption!  🐾 

Basil is a four month old, 17lb, smooth coat female border collie mix. 

From Athena, Basil’s foster mom:

She is a sweet, happy, spunky and high energy puppy. Her tail is always wagging. She loves cuddling up close to people and comes running when you call her name. She sometimes takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once she does, she wants to be close and get pet. She’s friendly to all dogs, but can be a bit feisty. She loves to play and wrestle with my two. When my older female barks at her to back off, Basil will usually bark back and try to play more, so she will need some direction with other dogs that don’t want to play with her. She likes to try to play with the cat, but is also capable of ignoring him when asked. Very responsive, and already likes to play a little fetch. Loves food, and gets very excited for treats and meals, but she’s learned to sit patiently before she gets her food.

She is very confident and nothing seems to bother her. On walks, she has very high stamina and after the walk will, come home to zoom around the yard. She wants to say hi to other dogs and people on walks but has no issues walking past.

She is almost fully potty trained. She’s teething right now and has been very good about chewing only dog appropriate chews. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, and spends a few hours in there during the day too. Settles nicely in her crate, but outside of her crate, she’d rather be playing and gets FOMO if she sees me walking away with my other two dogs.

Basil is UTD on shots, HW negative and is spayed.

Good sports prospect or active family pet/hiking partner.
